Paella, a flavorful combination of rice, vegetables and meat or seafood is one of the best known dishes of Spain. Originally from Valencia in eastern Spain, paella has numerous recipe variations throughout the various regions of Spain as well as other Spanish speaking countries.
The one constant in all forms of paella is the flavor foundation of the dish which comes from sofrito – a sautéed mixture of onions, garlic, sweet peppers and olive oil.
Our Traditional Paella Kit contains our Sofrito Authentic Cuban Recipe cooking sauce, rice and our Spanish Style Chorizo. It’s a simple two step recipe – boil the water, add the rice, sofrito and chorizo and cook about twenty minutes until the rice is cooked. If desired add seafood (shrimp, clams, lobster, crab etc.) you like during the last ten minutes of cooking and you have a wonderfully satisfying and delicious meal that is ready in minutes!
